“Why look for Coaching services, they can’t do anything” or “Just hire Coaching services, they will solve your problem right away”… Those are just two of the many misunderstandings about Coaching services that are increasingly popular in the market today.

The problem with these Myths is like most myths they’re wrong and they get in the way of this important idea of having a Coach and receiving a Coaching. Most people will benefit from Coaching, but not everyone thinks so. Why don’t they use Coaching?

1. They think coaching is too complex: 

It will add too much complexity to their life. The great irony about that is a good coach and good coaching is actually very clear and very simple. In Fact that role of the coach is to take things that are difficult and make them very simple and very clear. So that is not true. Coaching is not complex.

2. Coaching takes a long time:

Anything worthwhile takes an investment of time, and time spent with a coach is an investment in yourself. Reality, the more you practice, the more quickly you can get to the heart and deal with issues.

Coaching is a process to improve and change many different aspects, which means that “quickly” will not bring results. The Coach always puts with great enthusiasm and always accompanies the enterprise to the expected results.

3. Coaching just for people who have problems or can’t succeed on their own:

Fact

Coaching services help the good and the best get even better. Coaching works best for motivated performers who want to achieve even more or who may feel “stuck” in certain areas of performance or behavior.

Coaching is often used to support good performers who are facing difficult challenges. Beside that, Executive Coaching is for anyone looking to improve their performance, they’re trying to advance at work or make meaningful personal connections.

4. Executive coaches are only brought in to fix toxic behavior:

Traditionally, coaches were brought in to address poor behavior among otherwise high-performing executives. This is no longer the norm nowadays. 

Today’s coaches work with high achievers to help them improve their skills. Coaching is not usually used for remedial purposes. Executive coaching focuses on personal and professional development, which can help to prevent toxic behavior from occurring in the first place.

5. Being Coached is Too Awkward:

Some leaders thought having a coach is an awkward admission of incompetence. It’s not true. There are 2 reasons for this

  • First, there is nothing wrong with needing help
  • Second, the thrust of executive coaching is not to expose grievous shortcomings in the leader

While hard skills such as decision-making, analysis, delegation, and control are certainly important components of effective management (in the proper proportions), the most effective leadership tools are softer skills such as transparency, humility, empathy, honesty, and personal engagement.
